Inland Area Prep Football Top 10

1. Corona Centennial (5-1) — The Huskies are hunting down Big VIII League prey. Last week it was the Riverside Poly Bears, 56-16. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday vs. Riverside North.

2. Redlands East Valley (6-0) — The Wildcats remain the most balanced team in San Bernardino County, defeating a better-than-average Fontana team 48-0 in Week 6. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday at Rialto.

3. Rancho Cucamonga (6-0) — The Cougars put on a show against Claremont last week, winning 52-24. How good is RC? We won’t find out until Week 8 against Upland. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday at Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos.

4. Rancho Verde (6-0) — The Mustangs have scored 50-plus points in each of their last two games and 40-plus in five of six. They’re the Inland Valley League’s best team by a country mile. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday at Riverside La Sierra.

5. Norco (5-1) — The Cougars squeaked past Eastvale Roosevelt in Week 6, 30-27, in what may be the best new rivalry in the area. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday vs. Corona Santiago.

6. Vista Murrieta (6-0) — The Broncos’ passing game highlighted the team’s 28-0 victory last week over Elsinore Temescal Canyon. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday at Chaparral.

7. Colton (5-1) — It was only a matter of time before Harold Strauss’s bunch started making waves. Five straight victories over quality opponents and one loss (to Vista Murrieta) are all impressive. Next Game: 7 p.m. at San Bernardino.

8. Upland (6-0) — The Highlanders put down the Baseline League’s third-best team, Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos, 17-0, in Week 6. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday vs. Rancho Cucamonga Alta Loma.

9. Perris Citrus Hill (6-0) — Few challenges remain for the Hawks, who extinguished Rubidoux’s flame, 62-13, last week. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday vs. Beaumont.

10. Temecula Chaparral (4-2) — The Pumas’ defense is clearly up to the task after holding Murrieta Valley to three first-half points en route to a 47-23 win in Week 6. Next Game: 7 p.m. Friday vs. Vista Murrieta.
