… is the Player Of The Week after his performance in a 48-10 trashing of Colton on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. Not committed to play football, Gheorghe passed for more than 275 yards and four TDs as the Huskies opened their season with a victory.

Led by the athletic and charismatic Gheorghe, the Huskies are on the rise in the Big VIII and should be in the mix for one of the league’s four playoff spots. The play of Gheorghe (5-foot-11, 175 pounds) will be instrumental. A baseball player who played a key role as an outfielder for North’s recent CIF-Southern Section baseball title, Gheorghe excels outside the pocket and on the run, where he can find any one of the Huskies offensive weapons, like senior WR Aaron Peck or RB Garrette Biggers.
