RAMONA (8-5 overall, 2-3 River Valley League) graduated two of its best offensive players in a generation and now is in the CIF-Southern Section Division 11 championship game? Some things just don’t make sense, but junior RB Sincere Tolbert has been a revelation as the next-in-line after Beau Bruins, last year’s InlandFieldhouse.com Player of the Year, with more than 1,500 rushing yards and 20 TDs, and role players like Royce Mendoza have played well above expectations.

RIVERSIDE POLY (7-6 overall, 2-1 Sunbelt League) started the season with just one victory through its first six games and now finds itself in the D11 final. There aren’t too many stories like the Bears’ this year. They arrive in the final riding a 6-game winning streak on the backs of the defense, which has allowed 21 points or less in every game since October started. Junior QB Victor Aquilar has been able to extend plays when necessary and keep the chains moving in the playoffs.
