FOUR & MORE: Best 2011 League Games

1. No. 1 Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda at No. 4 Upland on FRIDAY — The Highlanders won this game a season ago. Can coach John McNally’s team do it again, and stake their claim as the Baseline League’s best?

2. No. 9 Redlands East Valley at No. 5 Rialto Eisenhower on Monday, 2/1 — In a game that could determine the champion of the Citrus  Belt League, can the Wildcats’ size overcome Eisenhower’s athleticism?

3. No. 4 Upland at No. 1 Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda on Friday, 2/4 — The third and final matchup between these teams this season. Unless they meet an a CIF-Southern Section final, that is.

4. No. 2 Corona Centennial at Eastvale Roosevelt on Thursday, 2/10 — In what is sure to be the stiffest test in Centennial’s matriculation to back-to-back Big VIII League titles, the Huskies will have to revisit the location of their only intra-league loss last season.

AND MORE: Temecula Valley at No. 3 Murrieta Valley on WEDNESDAY — The Golden Bears have won seven consecutive games — and the Nighthawks three consecutive — heading into the Southwestern League opener for both teams. A road victory could propel coach LeRoy Thompson’s squad toward the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
