FOUR & MORE: Best Inland Area QBs

1. Matt Morin, Temecula Chaparral — Tell me something I don’t know about this 6-foot-3, 220 pound left-handed gunslinger. He looked great during spring football and he’s purportedly improved all summer. His size and intangibles have recruiters drooling. He’s hungry after a difficult junior season. Does he have the weapons around him to orchestrate some magic for the 2011 Pumas? HUGE GAMES: Sept. 23 at Corona Centennial; Oct. 14 vs. Vista Murrieta

2. Aaron Crone, Eastvale Roosevelt — Talk about one of the best pure passers to ever come out of northwestern Riverside County and you’re talking about this player. Crone (6-1, 210) has put up incredible passing numbers since being thrust under center as a sophomore. He’s compiled 35 TDs and just 14 INTs while throwing for more than 3,700 yards and completing better than 60 percent of his attempts. HUGE GAMES: Sept. 30 vs. Norco; Nov. 4 at Corona Centennial.

3. Michael Darr, Corona Santiago — Have you seen this kid throw? I have, and it was enough to assure me that the 5-foot-10, 165-pound junior is well on his to an exceptional prep career. No one questions his ability; He has the tools. Does he have the guile — and maturity — to lead the players around him to something more than a fifth-place finish in the Big VIII? BIG GAMES: Sept. 16 at Vista Murrieta; Oct. 14 vs. Corona Centennial.

4. Dimitri Morales, Rancho Cucamonga — With a CIF semifinal now under his belt, this 6-foot-1, 210-pound senior has the experience to back up the gaudy stats. Not only did Morales pass for more than 1,800 yards and 22 TDs in 2010, but he also gained more than 400 yards and scored 10 rushing TDs. He is perhaps the best dual-threat QB in San Bernardino County. HUGE GAMES: Sept. 23 at Covina Charter Oak; Sept. 30 vs. Redlands.

AND MORE: Logan Tutwiler, Menifee Paloma Valley — The best Inland Area quarterback at the annual Paloma Valley 7-on-7 summer passing tournament, the 6-foot-1, 165-pound senior opened some eyes with his play in leading the Wildcats into the championship game. His 18 TDs in more than 2,000 passing yards in 2010 prove that he’s improving into a recruit-able commodity. HUGE GAME: Nov. 10 vs. Elsinore.
