Inland Area Prep Football Top 10
1. Vista Murrieta (5-0) — The Broncos shrugged off their final non-league opponent in what was, in truth, an extremely difficult preseason. They visit an old foe this week.

WEEK SIX: at Temecula Chaparral on FRIDAY.
2. Corona Centennial (4-1) — The offense is clicking and the Huskies are piling yards on top of yards. What is this, 2010? Now the defense must also click — or risk be shark-bitten.

WEEK SIX: at Corona Santiago on FRIDAY.
3. Redlands East Valley (5-0) — Wow. Holding one of Southern California’s best teams to just seven points is an accomplished fact. Just outstanding. Now go 8-0 the rest of the season.
LAST RANKED: No. 3. LAST WEEK: d. Mission Viejo 10-7 on Oct. 7.
WEEK SIX: vs. Fontana Miller at Univ. of Redlands on FRIDAY.

WEEK SIX: vs. Rancho Cucamonga Alta Loma at Ontario Chaffey HS on FRIDAY.
6. San Bernardino Cajon (5-0) — The Cowboys ride into the No. 6 spot, but not because of any lasso tricks or fancy shootin’. Coach Kim Battin’s team almost had its horse stolen last week.
LAST RANKED: No. 9. LAST WEEK: d. San Bernardino San Gorgonio 20-16 on Oct. 7.
WEEK SIX: at San Bernardino Pacific on FRIDAY.
7. Riverside North (4-1) — The Huskies’ team speed was undone by their lack of heft as the defense was gutted for more than 500 yards by the league champs.

LAST RANKED: No. 8. LAST WEEK: No game.
WEEK SIX: at Lake Elsinore Lakeside on FRIDAY.
9. Yucaipa (5-0) — The Thunderbirds (the coolest Area moniker, BTW) are well rested for their upcoming flight. Can coach Justin Price’s team fly safely over the Citrus Belt League?
LAST RANKED: No. 10. LAST WEEK: No game.
WEEK SIX: at Rialto Eisenhower on FRIDAY.
10. Norco (3-2) — The Cougars could not stop Santiago QB Michael Darr (one of the Inland Area’s best). Todd Gerhart’s defense was torched for seven TDs (five by Darr) in a lopsided loss.
