CLOSER LOOK: Redlands RB Craig Lee

The way the 6-foot, 188-pound tailback hits holes you’d think he life depended upon it. Furious and fast, Lee pounded the rock for Redlands, and his play was the difference in the Terriers finishing third in the Citrus Belt League qualifying for the CIF-Southern Section Inland Division playoffs.
He ran for 224 yards and three touchdowns as Redlands (4-6 overall, 3-2 CBL) defeated Fontana Miller 25-20 on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011. Just six of his 33 carries went for more than 10 yards, but his 46-yard score in the second quarter tied the game and shocked the visiting Terriers to an inspired victory.
His fast and furious finish to the regular season means he finishes third among juniors in rushing behind Rim’s Jacob Taylor and Norco’s Joseph Ajeigbe. Lee’s 1,356 yards and 15 TDs make him a sure fire all-league selection and puts him on the short list of the Inland Area’s best RBs for next season.
I caught up with Lee following his top-notch performance vs. Miller. He was short on words but it it won’t be long before everyone knows he’s long on talent.
You guys just qualified for the playoffs. How did it come together for Redlands in Week 10?
“We worked as a team, came out strong, finished off strong. I just want to thank my line because I wouldn’t be able to do anything without my line so… that’s about it.”
