1. Frank Alvarez, Redlands East Valley — The 6-foot, 170-pound senior has yet to make an error while batting .438 with nine multi-hit performances in 16 games. The Wildcats’ leadoff hitter is also perhaps their best player, with a team-leading 21 hits, 15 RBI, seven doubles and two home runs for Inland Area’s No. 3-ranked team.

2. Parker Strebel, Woodcrest Christian — Look around Riverside and you aren’t likely to find a better shortstop. This 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior is batting .489 with 22 hits, 16 runs, five doubles, one home run and a team-leading 19 RBI for the Royals, a CIF-Southern Section Division 5 quarterfinalist last season.

3. Paul Martinez, Riverside Arlington — The engine that moves the Lions, this 6-foot, 160-pound senior touts a robust .622 BA (28 for 45) hitting at the top of Coach Gary Rungo’s lineup. Martinez has scored 19 runs but only has nine RBI despite nine XBHs.

4. Greg Espinoza, Yucaipa — Another piece to Coach Jeff Stout’s talented puzzle, Espinoza has multi-hit performances in eight of his last 10 games, and has a team-high 23 hits this season. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound senior is also the Thunderbirds’ leader in BA (.451) SBs (9) and runs (21).

AND MORE: T.J. Lee, Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World — The best part of a 4-11 team, this 6-foot, 165-pound senior who among Inland Area leaders with four triples while batting .429 (21 for 49) for the Scots.

………………… Terrian Arbet, Temecula Great Oak — The Wolfpack have found stability at shortstop with this 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior, who is batting .377 with 15 runs. His defense (already eight errors) needs some work, however.
