Inland Area Prep Football Top 10

FOLLOWING WEEK ELEVEN

1. Vista Murrieta (11-0) — Had no trouble dispatching South Hills, with or without Su’a Cravens. The USC-bound senior wasn’t in his uniform to start the game but reportedly played some in the second half. He’ll be needed this week vs. Norco.
THIS SEASON: 11-0 overall, 5-0 Southwestern League. LAST SEASON: 9-5 overall, 5-0 Southwestern League.
LAST RANKED: No. 1.
LAST GAME: def. West Covina South Hills 34-6 in a CIF-Southern Section Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. Norco on FRIDAY.

2. Corona Centennial (10-1) — A more methodical display in the 1st Round vs. Los Osos. Coach Matt Logan and QB Robert Webber will have the tempo turned up vs. No. 8 Murrieta Valley.
THIS SEASON: 10-1 overall, 5-0 Big VIII League. LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 7-0 Big VIII League.
LAST RANKED: No. 2.
LAST GAME: def. Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos 47-21 in a CIF-SS Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: at No. 8 Murrieta Valley on FRIDAY.

3. Upland (11-0) — The ‘U’ reminded us that it thinks it’s a top-tier defense after stomping on Great Oak in the 1st Round. Can they do the same to UCLA-bound RB Craig Lee and Redlands?
THIS SEASON: 11-0 overall, 5-0 Baseline League. LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 3.
LAST GAME: def. Temecula Great Oak 35-6 in a CIF-SS Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. Redlands on FRIDAY.

4. Perris Citrus Hill (11-0) — can anything stop the Hawks? Coach Eric Zomalt’s team posted a 51-0 drubbing over Silverado last week. Don’t think Rialto stands much of a chance.
THIS SEASON: 11-0 overall, 5-0 Mountain Pass League. LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 Mountain Pass League.
LAST RANKED: No. 4.
LAST GAME: def. Victorville Silverado 51-0 in a CIF-SS Eastern Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: at Rialto on FRIDAY.

5. Menifee Heritage (10-1) — Program starting to pump out running backs and full backs at startling rate. Sophomore Isaiah Morrow, Jamal’s younger bro, was outstanding vs. Palm Desert in the Pats’ playoff opener.
THIS SEASON: 10-1 overall, 5-0 Sunbelt League. LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 5-0 Sunbelt League.
LAST RANKED: No. 5.
LAST GAME: def. Palm Desert 42-28 in a CIF-SS Central Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. Riverside Arlington on FRIDAY.

6. Rialto Carter (11-0) — Nearly a year removed from winning a tough 15-14 game vs. Riverside La Sierra in last season’s playoffs, the Lions barely had to roar to defeat defeat the Eagles this time.
THIS SEASON: 11-0 overall, 5-0 San Andreas League. LAST SEASON: 11-2 overall, 7-0 San Andreas League.
LAST RANKED: No. 7.
LAST GAME: def. Riverside La Sierra 35-13 in a CIF-SS Eastern Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. Ridgecrest Burroughs on FRIDAY.

7. Phelan Serrano (11-0) — If the Diamondbacks’ defense was at all tested vs. San Berdoo Arroyo Valley then expect a finals-like exam vs. Beaumont and the Cougars’ high-powered offense this week.
THIS SEASON: 11-0 overall, 5-0 Mojave River League. LAST SEASON: 10-3 overall, 4-0 Mojave River League.
LAST RANKED: No. 8.
LAST GAME: def. San Bernardino Arroyo Valley 39-21 in a CIF-SS Eastern Division playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. Beaumont on FRIDAY.

8. Murrieta Valley (10-1) — Nighthawks proving to have mettle and a little luck after a 95-yard kickoff return was the difference vs. Rialto Eisenhower in the 1st Round. They’ll need so much more vs. No. 2 Centennial this week.
THIS SEASON: 9-1 overall, 4-1 Southwestern League. LAST SEASON: 7-4 overall, 3-2 Southwestern League.
LAST RANKED: No. 9.
LAST GAME: def. Rialto Eisenhower 35-27 in a CIF-SS Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. No. 2 Corona Centennial on FRIDAY.

9. Covina Charter Oak (10-1) — Chargers make their first appearance in the Top 10, have yet to allow more than 14 points in a game this season. Remarkable. Coach Lou Farrar’s team handled Chaparral in 1st Round, take on No. 10 Rancho Cucamonga next.
THIS SEASON: 10-1 overall, 5-0 Sierra League. LAST SEASON: 10-2 overall, 5-0 Sierra League.
LAST RANKED: Not Ranked.
LAST GAME: def. Temecula Chaparral 24-14 in a CIF-SS Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. No. 10 Rancho Cucamonga on FRIDAY.

10. Rancho Cucamonga (9-2) — Didn’t have much trouble with Corona Santiago but looks to have loads of it vs. newly-minted No. 9 Charter Oak. Can the Cougars play a perfect game? They’ll need to.
THIS SEASON: 9-2 overall, 4-1 Baseline League. LAST SEASON: 11-2 overall, 4-1 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 10.
LAST GAME: def. Corona Santiago 33-17 in a CIF-SS Inland Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 9.
WEEK TWELVE: vs. No. 9 Covina Charter Oak on FRIDAY.

DROPPED OUT: Fontana Summit (9-2).

JUST MISSED: Norco (7-4), Fontana Kaiser (10-1), Moreno Valley Rancho Verde (8-3).
