Cory Young, Norco…
…is the Inland Area Player of the Week after a stunning performance as the Cougars defeated the nation’s 23rd-ranked team, Mission Hills Alemany, 38-27, in a Week 5 non-league game on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.
Young ran for 286 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries as Norco (2-3 overall) surprised most people who figured the Cougars were headed for a 1-4 start under new coach Larry Baker.
Young (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) is the, ahem, younger brother of 2011 Norco graduate Kelsey Young, now at Stanford. The younger Young now has an even 1,000 yards and seven TDs at the midway point of his senior season.
