1. Corona Centennial — Huskies totaled 800 points last season but were blown out by St. John Bosco in the Open Division final at Cerritos College.

2. Vista Murrieta — Broncos scored 40 or more points in each of their nine games heading into the Inland Division final, but were stumped vs. Centennial again.
LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 5-0 Southwestern League. 2012: 13-1, 5-0.
LAST RANKED: No. 2.
LAST GAME: lost 26-12 to No. 1 Corona Centennial in the CIF-Southern Section Inland Division Championships Game on Friday, Dec. 6.

3. Upland — The ‘U’ may have missed the mark in the Inland Division but will be a legitimate contender in new West Valley Division.
LAST SEASON: 9-4 overall, 3-2 Baseline League. 2012: 12-1, 5-0.
LAST RANKED: No. 8.
LAST GAME: lost, 86-56, to No. 1 Corona Centennial in a CIF-SS Inland Division Semifinal Round game on Friday, Nov. 29.

4. Menifee Heritage — How will the CIF-Southern Section Central Division champions be affected by the weight of new expectations? Step one: Watch QB Brett Virgil play.

6. Moreno Valley Rancho Verde — Mustangs suffering near miss after near miss would be grinding on Coach Thomas Duffy if he didn’t have one of the top QBs in the nation — senior Sheriron Jones — returning.
LAST SEASON: 11-3 overall, 6-0 Inland Valley League. 2012: 10-4, 5-1.
LAST RANKED: No. 6.

7. Rancho Cucamonga — Cougars return starters galore on offense as QB Angel Matute continues to mature. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior passed for 1,300 yards and 12 TDs in limited action last year.
LAST SEASON: 10-2 overall, 4-1 Baseline League. 2012: 10-3, 4-1.
LAST RANKED: No. 9.

8. Norco — Cougars move forward with Charles Chastain as head varsity coach, and a dynamic returner under center in QB Victor Viramontes.

9. Riverside Poly — Sporting the City’s best 1-2-3 offensive punch in Chandler Drachslin, Devontre Hale & Ykili Ross, these Bears look to the hunters and not the hunted this season.

LAST RANKED: Not Ranked.

10. San Bernardino San Gorgonio — Spartans return some impact players on offense — Alvin Bibbs, Dante Finney, Wesley Hill & Nate Meadors — but questions remain about sustainability.
LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 San Andreas League. 2012: 8-3, 4-1.
LAST RANKED: No. 7.
LAST GAME: lost, 38-37, to Riverside Norte Vista in a CIF-SS Eastern Division Semifinal Round game on Friday, Nov. 29.
