GIRLS PREP BASKETBALL 2016
BEST INLAND AREA COACHES
1. Mark Lehman, San Bernardino Cajon — A respected mentor to so many, with the top record (407-48 since 2004-’05) among his colleagues, but would probably prefer to not be at the top of any list. Still, he hasn’t won fewer than 23 games in 12 seasons, every year a putting together a contender.
2. Gail Hale, Moreno Valley Canyon Springs — Has there ever been a more successful girls prep basketball coach in the Inland area? Multiple 30-win seasons and CIF-Southern Section championships are just part of the story of her 278 wins since the ’04-’05 season.
3. Latrina Duncan, Fontana Summit — Provided for the smoothest coaching transition in recent memory when she took over for Alexis Barile in 2010, and has five league titles and six playoff appearances in six seasons since.
4. Leonard De Coud, Riverside North — Enters his sixth season having amassed 111 wins. Finally claimed share of Inland Valley League title last season.
AND MORE:
Kurt Ruth, Vista Murrieta — Went 10-0 to win the SWL, was a CIF-State D1 QFs and won 30 games in first year.
Rick Thompson, Riverside Carnegie — Starting over after a brilliant run at Norco that ended unceremoniously.
Fonda Wilson, Rancho Cucamonga Alta Loma — Begins her fourth year already the school’s leader in wins (54).
Robert Woods, Corona Centennial — Has won 20-or-more games each of the last seven seasons.
