jserralogoTHE LOW DOWN:
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO JSERRA CATHOLIC (5-5 overall, 1-4 Trinity) has faced a murderer’s row down the stretch, losing to Orange Lutheran and Anaheim Servite, then Bellflower St. John Bosco and Santa Ana Mater Dei. The Lions’ only win in league was over Santa Margarita, 27-21, in Week 8. The team has had one of the toughest schedules in the state, and has nonleague wins over playoff teams Vista Murrieta and Los Alamitos, among others. Junior QB Matt Robinson has been forced to learn on the job in his first varsity season, but has 17 TDs (seven INTs), nearly 1,900 passing yards and a 57-percent completion percentage.
HEAD COACH: Jim Hartigan

centennialLOGOCORONA CENTENNIAL (9-1 overall, 5-0 Big VIII) has run roughshod through another regular season schedule, its only loss by ONE POINT to other-worldly IMG Academy, 50-49, back in Week 1. The Huskies quickly dismissed any challenges for their league title, and are looking for another CIF-Southern Section title to add to their already lengthy and prodigious resumes. Junior QB Tanner McKee is as efficient as they come, passing for 24 TDs and more than 2,600 yards while maintaining a completion percentage about 70 percent and a 135.5 QB Rating.
HEAD COACH: Matt Logan
