JURUPA VALLEY PATRIOT (5-1 overall, 1-0 River Valley League) crushed Jurupa Valley, 41-0, last week behind a strong effort from senior QB John Ober, and now have won four consecutive games coming into a matchup for first place in league. The Warriors have relied on the offense line and Ober (14 total TDs) to carry to load and they’ve delivered with more than 263 combined rushing yards per game. Ober, a 6-foot-4 senior right-hander, averages more than 130 rushing yards per game and will throw it to anybody checked in at receiver with five touchdowns passes to five different teammates.

RIVERSIDE HILLCREST (5-1 overall, 1-0 River Valley League) also has won four consecutive and is coming off a similarly lopsided win after scoring a 45-6 result over Riverside Ramona in Week 6. The Trojans offense seems to be clicking with junior QB Jalen Jefferson passing for two TDs and running for another TD in the win, but the defense will be tested against Patriot’s bullying offensive line. It might be that having athletic DBs isn’t enough when there’s a monster pounding at your door.
