Apple Valley senior QB Jeff Widener has been selected InlandFieldhouse.com’s Player of the Week after his Week 3 performance in a 76-21 victory over Victor Valley in a non-league game on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018.

Widener completed 25 of 35 pass attempts for 473 yards and eight touchdowns as the Sun Devils (4-0 overall) topped their long-time High Desert rival for the ninth consecutive season in The Bell Game.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound gunslinger has placed himself in rarified air with the performance. Widener currently leads the nation in passing touchdowns (24) and is second in the nation is passing yards (1,425). He leads all CIF-Southern Section quarterbacks in both catagories.

Widener has now passed for eight touchdowns and more than 400 yards twice this season. He was 21 of 33 for 451 yards and eights TDs in a 52-42 victory over Silverado in Week 0.
