CLOSER LOOK: Ramona’s Beau Bruins

Take a closer look at Riverside Ramona junior Beau Bruins and you’ll be surprised by just how elusive and fast he is on the field.

Bruins is sparkplug that makes the offense go and scored three rushing touchdowns and returned a kickoff 95 yards for another score for the Rams (5-0 overall), who survived a barn burner against a Big VIII League team on Friday, Sept. 24.

The 5-foot-10 running back takes the majority of the touches on offense and it’s because he is so productive, averaging more than 190 rushing yards and three total touchdowns per game.

Bruins is currently 14th in CIF-Southern Section with 762 rushing yards, ranks third with 14 rushing touchdowns and fifth in yards per game (190.5).

We caught up with Bruins after Ramona’s 42-35 victory over Corona. In addition to his work on offense, Bruins also had six solo tackles and two passes defended from his position as strong safety. This was a crazy back-and-forth game. What was the team thinking in the final 2 minutes?
