GAME OF THE WEEK: Citrus Valley at Cajon

THE DETAILS:
Redlands Citrus Valley vs. San Bernardino Cajon
CIF-Southern Section – Week 6
At San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon High School
Kickoff: 7 p.m. PT on Friday, Oct. 1
CITRUS VALLEY (4-1 overall, 0-0 Citrus Belt League) took on No. 1 Corona Centennial an a whim in Week 5, and will be that much smarter and faster for it. There’s a lot of lessons to be learned from playing the Huskies, and the Blackhawks also gained a lot of respect in the process. The status of junior QB Hunter Herrera remains uncertain after suffering an apparent arm/shoulder injury in the 63-20 loss. If Herrera is not able to go, look for sophomore Kade Finazzo under center.
HEAD COACH: Kurt Bruich
ROSTER – QB: #6-Hunter Herrera, Jr. (6-foot-3, 180 pounds); QB: #17-Kade Finazzo, Soph. (na); RB: #33-Jeremiah Claiborne, Jr. (6-1, 180); WR: #11-Brockton Lium, Jr., (6-4, 195); WR: #2-Sergio Cervantes, Sr. (6-foot, 175); OL: #66-Andrew Calderon, Sr. (6-5, 360); DL: #62-Osman Bolanos, Sr. (6-2, 256); OLB: #24-Joseph Zelaya, Jr. (5-10, 180); DB: #1-Jelani McLaughlin, Sr. (6-foot, 175); K: #45-Max Thomas, Sr. (6-foot, 185)
CAJON (5-0 overall, 0-0 Citrus Belt League) needed everything it had to come from behind to defeat a rebuilding Rancho Cucamonga team in the closing seconds of Week 5, which doesn’t exactly bode well for a matchup against a ranked team in Week 6. Sophomore phenom Martinez Miles was the InlandFieldhouse.com Player of the Week in Week 0 and keeps getting better. The spry QB has rattled off four consecutive games with 10-or-more completions, and currently holds a QB rating above 140.
HEAD COACH: Nick Rogers
ROSTER – QB: #4-Martinez Miles, Soph. (6-foot-1, 150 pounds); RB: #31-Freddy Fletcher, Sr. (5-6, 170); WR: #6-Ethan Powell, Sr. (6-3, 195); WR: #9-Jeyquan Smith, Jr. (5-10, 155); OL: #74-Joseph Jackson, Sr. (6-4, 260); DL: #3-Maika Esau, Sr. (6-6, 217); LB: #11-Jacob Pam, Sr. (5-11, 195); CB: #13-T.J.
