DAMIEN (6-0 overall, 1-0 Baseline League) remains unbeaten after a close 24-21 victory over Upland in Week 6 in which a fourth-quarter field goal was the only difference. The Spartans defense allows nearly 20 points per game, but the Isaiah Arraiza-to-Ayden Gutierrez connection on offense has been lethal and the rushing attack grinds out 5.1 yards per carry.

CHINO HILLS (5-2 overall, 1-0 Baseline League) had the intestinal fortitude to go for the two-point PAT in overtime and finish off Etiwanda 39-38 in a cracking league opener. Burly senior QB Nolan Ellison is doing it all on offense for the Huskies, making up for what he lacks in the passing game (48.7 completion percentage) by leading the team in rushing with 6.2 yards per carry and eight TDs.
