SUMMIT (6-2 overall, 1-0 Sunkist League) is riding a five-game winning streak and beat Grand Terrace 35-21 in last week’s league opener. The SkyHawks defense – always a strength – has allowed 20-or-more points just three times this season. Sophomore Jesse Vega has emerged as a dual-threat quarterback and has totaled 17 touchdowns, four games with 100-plus rushing yards and more than 1,800 total yards as the primary playmaker in the offense.

EISENHOWER (7-1 overall, 1-0 Sunkist League) has a number of high-quality wins this season and bounced back nicely from its first loss to beat Jurupa Hills 30-20 last week. Senior QB Daniel Ruiz has settled into some mistake-free football and running back Bernardo Blanco and Jacoby Pointer-Caldwell provide a little thunder-and-lightning action out of the backfield. Blanco’s also a beast on defense with a team-leading nine sacks.

THE DIFFERENCE:
Experience at quarterback. If Eisenhower’s defense can find a way to slow Jesse Vega, then Daniel Ruiz and Ike’s running back duo should be able to finish the fight.
