Inland Area Prep Football Top 10

1. Temecula Chaparral (11-3) — The Pumas ran the Inland Division playoff gauntlet (Eastvale Roosevelt, Redlands East Valley, Corona Centennial and Vista Murrieta) and came out the other side champions. A nearly unbelievable run. FINISH: CIF Inland Division champion.

2. Vista Murrieta (13-1) — The Broncos could only muster seven points as their dream season came to an end in a 13-7 loss at home in the Inland Division final. That has to hurt. FINISH: CIF Inland Division runner-up.

3. Upland (12-2) — The Highlanders played out-of-their-minds defense in the playoffs, allowing just 37 points in four playoff games, including a 19-7 victory over Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos in the Central Division final. FINISH: CIF Centreal Division champion.

4. Norco (11-2) — The Cougars were the best team in a down year for the Big VIII League. FINISH: CIF Inland Division semifinalist.

5. Corona Centennial (10-3) — The Huskies had speed to burn but lacked cohesiveness on offense. FINISH: CIF Inland Division semifinalist.

6. Redlands East Valley (11-1) — The Wildcats are the only relevant team in the Citrus Belt League. An early round playoff loss, albeit to the eventual champion, doesn’t do much to help the league’s reputation. FINISH: CIF Inland Division quarterfinalist.

7. Moreno Valley Rancho Verde (11-1) — The Mustangs were the best team from a bad Inland Valley Division. They have nowhere to go but up. FINISH: CIF Inland Division quarterfinalist.

8. Palm Springs (11-2) — The Indians were a desert powerhouse this season, winning their last eight games — including the Eastern Division title game. FINISH: CIF Eastern Division champion.

9. Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos (9-5) — The Grizzlies weathered an early-season swoon, defeated rival Rancho Cucamonga twice, and advanced all the way to the Central Division final. That’s a heck of a season. FINISH: CIF Central Division runner-up.

10. Phelan Serrano (11-3) — The Diamondbacks played some of the best defense in the Inland Area but were snake bit against Palm Springs in the Eastern Division final, losing 24-14. FINISH: CIF Eastern Division runner-up.
