FOUR & MORE: Best Inland Area Coaches

PREP BASEBALL COACHES 2012

1. Jeff Stout, Yucaipa —  Having surpassed 700 victories is just of the tip of the iceberg for Stout. The 36-year veteran has coach a slew of future major leaguers, from Corky Miller (1994) and Mark Teahen (1999) to soon-to-bes like Matt Davidson (2008) and Tijuan Walker (2009), fueling 17 league titles and three CIF championships.

2. Steve Madril, Riverside North — Led the Huskies to the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 championship last season in his fifth year on the job. Currently ranked No. 1 in the Inland Area and stocked with some of the best talent around, Madril’s task is to repeat.

3. Don Furnald, Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda — Guided the Eagles to the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 title game last season but is currently struggling to earn a playoff spot in the deep Baseline League.

4. Jim Cordes, Redlands East Valley — Survived a smackdown with a former player early in his tenure, and has managed to keep REV relevant in the ultra-competitive Citrus Belt League.

AND MORE: Glenn Prater, Riverside Woodcrest Christian — Led the Royals to a CIF title just two years ago (finally) and has really developed quite a program for such a small school.
