FOLLOWING WEEK EIGHT

1. Vista Murrieta (8-0) — Broncos now ranked 1st overall in the state by MaxPreps.com, face another tough Southwestern League game this week vs. pass-happy Murrieta Mesa.
THIS SEASON: 8-0 overall, 3-0 Southwestern League. LAST SEASON: 9-5 overall, 5-0 Southwestern League.
LAST RANKED: No. 1.
LAST GAME: d. Murrieta Valley 45-17 in a Southwestern League game on Friday, Oct. 19.
WEEK NINE: at Murrieta Mesa on FRIDAY.

2. Upland (8-0) — Score, score and score some more. Highlander/Scots have scored 47 points in consecutive games but better save some of points for the playoffs.
THIS SEASON: 8-0 overall, 3-0 Baseline League. LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 2.

3. Corona Centennial (7-1) — Huskies looked extremely beatable for about five minutes vs. Riverside King on Thursday, but stormed back to score on seven consecutive drives.
THIS SEASON: 7-1 overall, 3-0 Big VIII League. LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 7-0 Big VIII League.
LAST RANKED: No. 3.

WEEK NINE: vs. Eastvale Roosevelt on FRIDAY.

4. Perris Citrus Hill (8-0) — Biggest league game awaits this week as Hawks travel into Hemet to take on Tahquitz, and the Titans’ similarly high-powered offense.
THIS SEASON: 8-0 overall, 3-0 Mountain Pass League. LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 Mountain Pass League.
LAST RANKED: No. 5.

5. Temecula Chaparral (7-1) — Nipped Great Oak in the bud, but offense may be a concern. Pumas scored their fewest total (21) since a Week 4 non-league loss to Rancho Santa Margarita Tesoro.
THIS SEASON: 7-1 overall, 3-0 Southwestern League. LAST SEASON: 7-5 overall, 4-1 Southwestern League.

6. Menifee Heritage (7-1) — Patriots didn’t display firepower vs. Paloma Valley and didn’t have to; Coach Kurt Broach’s defense limited cross-town rivals to just 13 points.
THIS SEASON: 7-1 overall, 3-0 Sunbelt League. LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 5-0 Sunbelt League.
LAST RANKED: No. 4.

WEEK NINE: at Lake Elsinore Lakeside on FRIDAY.

7. Fontana Summit (7-1) — Can’t blame the SkyHawks if they’re on cruise control until the playoffs, they’ve outscored their last four opponents 215-7.
THIS SEASON: 7-1 overall, 3-0 Sunkist League. LAST SEASON: 13-1 overall, 5-0 Sunkist League.
LAST RANKED: No. 6.
LAST GAME: def. Grand Terrace 61-0 in a Sunkist League game on Friday, Oct. 19.
WEEK NINE: at Bloomington on FRIDAY.

8. Rialto Carter (8-0) — Lions turned it on in the second half vs. San Gorgonio, pulling away to rout to not-so Spartans. The SAL is as good as wrapped.
THIS SEASON: 8-0 overall, 3-0 San Andreas League. LAST SEASON: 11-2 overall, 7-0 San Andreas League.
LAST RANKED: No. 8.

WEEK NINE: at San Bernardino Pacific on FRIDAY.

9. Rancho Cucamonga (6-2) — Cougars scored 45 points on Glendora and are probably feeling all better about themselves. Upcoming games should be as affirming.
THIS SEASON 6-2 overall, 2-1 Baseline League. LAST SEASON: 11-2 overall, 4-1 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 9.

10. Redlands (7-1) — Terriers jump back into the first time since before Week 0, and in doing so beat sworn enemy REV to bump the Wildcats out. That’s a good week at 840 E. Citrus.
THIS SEASON: 7-1 overall, 3-0 Citrus Belt League. LAST SEASON: 4-7 overall, 3-2 Citrus Belt League.
LAST RANKED: Not Ranked.
LAST GAME: def. Redlands East Valley 41-37 in a Citrus Belt League game on Friday, Oct. 19.
WEEK NINE: at Yucaipa on FRIDAY.

DROPPED OUT: Redlands East Valley (3-4).
