1. Corona Centennial (2-1) — Who schedules Long Beach Poly, and on a short week? Nobody but the Huskies, who led most of this game before Poly’s late-game defense and a QB sneak caught Coach Matt Logan’s team either tired or unprepared.

2. Vista Murrieta (2-0) — QB Coltin Gerhart (Sr., 6-3, 220) is on a tear in his first two games as a Bronco, earning Inland Area Player of the Week honors in Week 2 after contributing five TDs (2 pass, 3 rush) in a cross-county rout.

3. Perris Citrus Hill (3-0) — QB Brett Hollingsworth (Sr., 6-2, 195) continues to light up opposing defenses, throwing for his eighth, ninth and tenth TDs of the season as the Hawks won their 17th consecutive game.

4. Menifee Heritage (3-0) — Went on the road and put together an all-around performance vs. an albeit inferior opponent. QB Brett Virgil (Soph., 5-10, 155) completed was 8 of 10 for 122 yards and three TDs in the win.

5. Upland (1-2) — Highlanders finally got on the plus side of the ledger with a shutout of Long Beach Jordan. Was it a sign of things to come of a one-off against a meaningless also ran?

8. Murrieta Valley (3-0) — Nighthawks outlasted No. 10 Roosevelt in a game that featured lead changes in the fourth quarter and lived up to its billing.
