GAME OF THE WEEK: Corona Santiago at Norco

THE DETAILS:
Corona Santiago vs. Norco
CIF-Southern Section – Week 1
At Norco (Calif.) High School
Kickoff: 7 p.m. PT on Thursday, March 18
CORONA SANTIAGO (0-0 overall, 0-0 Big VIII League) has an interesting roster as currently constructed. Junior QB Dominic Tubbs may be the biggest play caller in Sharks history, but the real engine for this team is senior WR/OLB Caden Siemsen. He’ll be a primary target for whatever QB lines up under center, and probably lead the team in tackles by the end of this truncated season.
HEAD COACH: Scott Morrison
ROSTER – QB: Dominic Tubbs, Jr. (6-foot-4, 210 pounds); RB/OLB: Jalen Sanders, Sr. (5-10, 170); RB: Andrew Cisneros, Sr. (5-7, 150); WR/OLB: Caden Siemsen, Sr. (5-9, 165); TE/OLB: Josh Jaques, Sr. (6-1, 161); DL/TE: Kamren Marsh, Soph. (6-3, 200); DE/DT: Haroon Khaliqi, Sr. (6-3, 177); OLB/MLB: Christian Sedberry, Sr. (5-8, 192); DB/WR: Nathan Perez, Sr. (5-10, 160)
NORCO (0-0 overall, 0-0 Big VIII League) has a lot to do in a very short time but will have to be especially happy for seniors like Andrew Madrigal and Brandon Manley, veterans of the program who stuck it out to see this thing through. Junior QB Kyle Crum need to take these games seriously in preparation for a fall season when this team will have a chance to make some noise in a postseason.
HEAD COACH: Chuck Chastain
ROSTER – QB: Kyle Crum, Jr. (6-foot-4, 190 pounds); RB: Kalani Kaleiwahea, Soph. (5-5, 151); WR: Cody Tarver, Jr. (5-8, 185); TE: Quentin Holtz, Sr., (6-3, 190); C/LS: Cameron Warchuk, Sr. (6-foot, 235); OL: Andrew Madrigal, Sr. (6-4, 300); LB: Brandon Manley, Sr. (5-11, 210); DB: Steven Cuadra, Sr. (6-foot, 175); K: Bradley Smith, Sr. (6-foot, 160)
THE DIFFERENCE:
Norco has a size advantage across its interiors lines, which is nothing new. What is new for the Cougars is the lack of a clear option in the running game.
THE FINAL SCORE (PROJECTED):
Norco 23, Corona Santiago 18
