Prep Preview: Roosevelt at King
I’m covering the Eastvale Roosevelt-Riverside King varsity track and field dual meet today, Wednesday, April 22, 2015, for The Press-Enterprise and HSGametime.com.
Gun goes off at 3:15 p.m. PST.
THE LOW DOWN:
Eastvale Roosevelt is without star hurdler Jasmyne Graham, who continues to rest her hamstring after tweaking it Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays. How big an impact this has will likely determine whether or not the Mustangs girls win a Big VIII League title.
Riverside King must take advantage of Roosevelt’s loss if their going to pull another stunner as it did last year. Big efforts from senior Leighana Weaver in the 100 and 300 hurdles will steal points for the Wolves, and senior Hannah Chang is a lock in the pole vault.

THE DIFFERENCE:
Roosevelt is producing sprinters near the same level as Vista Murrieta these days. With or without Graham, the fastest times will be posted by Mustangs while the Wolves’ must horde points in the field events to have a shot.
