BEST OFF-SEASON STORIES

1. New CIF-Southern Section Divisions — The Powers That Be decided it was best to go back to numerical (1-13) divisions as a better representation of the competitive parity which they hope to achieve. Locally, that means no more ‘Inland’, ‘Central’, or ‘Eastern’ in football. Is that a big deal?

2. Corona Centennial incoming transfer Tyjon Lindsey — One of the nation’s most highly-touted receivers lands with the Huskies just in time for his senior season. What a coup for the program and the player. Starting QB Tanner McKee must be giddy.

3. Coaching change at Vista Murrieta — Intriguing in both its timing and ripple-effect, Coley Candaele stepped down as Broncos football coach in mid-January. Long-time assistant David Olson takes over in the hopes of making a smooth transition.

4. Stephen Carr’s recruiting — A strong verbal commit to Southern Cal despite every SEC, Big 10, Big XII and PAC 12 program sending him love letters.
