FOUR & MORE: Best Nonleague Games
PREP FOOTBALL 2016
BEST INLAND AREA NONLEAGUE GAMES
1. Murrieta Valley at Rancho Cucamonga, Sept. 16 — Top up-and-coming quarterback will face an unnerving test on the road against the CIF-Southern Section’s best defensive backfield. How will sophomore QB Hank Bachmeier respond when his pocket is closing and three of his four passing windows are shut?
2. Perris Citrus Hill at MoVal Rancho Verde, Sept. 16 — Whether it’s during the regular season or in the playoffs, this Val Verde School District rivalry has become among the best games every year. Hawks now have thing Mustangs have been chasing for far longer – a ring.
3. Rancho Cucamonga at Perris Citrus Hill, Sept. 23 — Cougars appear four times on this list after Nick Baiz schedules toughest preseason in recent memory. Not afraid to take on a CIF State champion, willing to take a shot with that defense anywhere, anytime.
4. Temecula Great Oak at Menifee Heritage, Aug. 26 — Edge on this game is off with graduation after both teams graduated experienced senior classes, but for a Week 0 game it doesn’t get a whole lot better.
Redlands East Valley at Upland, Sept. 9 — San Bernardino County showdown is a litmus test for both.
Norco at Rancho Cucamonga, Sept. 2 — Was a time when this was far-and-away the best nonleague game.
Riverside King at MoVal Rancho Verde, Sept. 30 — Wolves stepping up preseason schedule big time.
Riverside La Sierra vs. Riverside Arlington, Sept. 1 — So intense has to be moved to Rubidoux HS.
Chino Hills Ayala at Chino Hills, Aug. 26
Murrieta Valley at Corona Santiago, Aug. 26
Palm Springs at Redlands, Aug. 26
Rancho Cucamonga at Temecula Chaparral, Aug. 26
Riverside North at Corona, Sept. 2
San Bernardino San Gorgonio vs. Fontana Summit, Sept. 8
Vista Murrieta at Corona Santiago, Sept. 9
Riverside King vs. Riverside Poly, Sept. 16
