INLAND VALLEY LEAGUE PREVIEW

Not too much has changed in the IVL from last season, which is part of what makes it one of the more intriguing leagues to follow. MoVal Valley View, loaded with from front to back, look intent on making another run at more than just a second league crown. In fact, this Eagles team could be reaching its peak. Riverside North may be a year or so away with its young guards, while MoVal Canyon Springs could be on the verge of a bounce-back year.

MORENO VALLEY VALLEY VIEW (24-4 overall, 8-2 Inland Valley) was a CIF-Southern Section Division 1A quarterfinalist last season, coming within three points of a spot among the final four teams. The Eagles have a potentially stronger team and could go deeper this season, with guards RyLeigh Long and Jalen Long running the floor, and 6-foot-1 junior center Amani Moxley down low.
HEAD COACH: Leigh Ann Long

RIVERSIDE NORTH (20-7, 7-3) lost to Riverside Poly on the final day of the regular season but still managed a quarterfinal run in the CIF-SS D2AA playoffs. The Huskies have a good, young core with sophomore guards Tyzajahanae Calhoun and Miracle Saxon.
HEAD COACH: Leonard DeCoud

MORENO VALLEY CANYON SPRINGS (11-13, 7-3) only graduated three seniors and none of its size. Look for 5-foot-10 senior shooting guard Sharonda Edwards to put up some big numbers.
HEAD COACH: Gail Hale

RIVERSIDE POLY (19-9, 6-4) just missed qualifying for the playoffs despite defeating both MoVal Canyon Springs and Riverside North on the final week of the regular season.
HEAD COACH: Scott Clark

MORENO VALLEY RANCHO VERDE (8-18, 2-8) should have lots of intriguing pieces returning, including 6-foot senior C/F Angel Munoz, who averaged a near double-double.
HEAD COACH: Mitchell Myer

RIVERSIDE ARLINGTON (2-21, 0-10) lost 13 consecutive games to end last season.
HEAD COACH: Jackie Tobin
