Fazios To Take Over Oak Hills Defense

April 10, 2017 – Vinny Fazio is the new defensive coordinator at Hesperia Oak Hills.

FAZIO

Most recently the head coach at Riverside Ramona High, Fazio confirmed by phone on Monday night that he has been teaching at Oak Hills since February and will be in charge of the Bulldogs defense this season.

“Yeah. They got me out there in early February,” Fazio said. “Doing the defense. It’s a really cool place. Easy to tell why they’ve been good. Great admin.”

Skip Fazio will be right there, too, coaching the linebackers.

“Big Faz is gonna do the LBs,” Fazio said.

Fazio went 15-5-1 in two seasons at Ramona, qualifying for the CIF-Southern Section playoffs in his first season before narrowly missing out in 2016. The coach and school mutually parted ways earlier this offseason.

This new job at Oak Hills will be the second stint as a defensive coordinator in San Bernardino County for Fazio, 36, a Fontana High graduate. He was the DC at Rialto Carter in 2010-’11. He previously was a head coach at Rialto Eisenhower (2012) and Murrieta Valley (2013).
