Citrus Valley senior Michael Counce has been selected InlandFieldhouse.com’s Player of the Week after a showstopping second-half performance as the Blackhawks beat up Yucaipa, 42-7, in a Citrus Belt League game on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.

Counce returned the opening kickoff of the second half 99 yards for a touchdown and also returned a fumble 101 yards for a score as the Blackhawks (7-3 overall, 5-0 CBL) wrapped up their first league title after years of second-place finishes to Cajon.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound defensive back leads the team with three interceptions and ranks second with 53 solo tackles. He also was the team’s second-leading receiver this season with 24 catches for 250 yards and three touchdowns.
