Game of the Week: San Gorgonio vs. Ramona

THE DETAILS:
San Gorgonio vs. Ramona
CIF-Southern Section – Week 11
At Riverside (Calif.) Ramona High School
Kickoff: 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday, Nov. 3

SAN GORGONIO (9-1 overall, 5-0 Skyline League) has a lot of positive momentum and so the question become just how long can the Spartans ride the wave in the first year under alum Chris Chaddick? Senior QB Payton Clark has been one of the top passers in the Inland area this season with 23 TDs and more than 2,000 yards, and three receivers have more than 30 catches.
HEAD COACH: Chris Chaddick
ROSTER – QB: #18-Payton Clark, Sr. (6-foot, 210 pounds); RB/LB: #29-Dillon Carolina, Sr. (6-2, 185); WR/DB: #2-Jayden Edgar, Sr. (5-9, 160); WR/DB: #4-Jaevin Sawyer, Sr. (5-9, 150); TE: #11-Francisco Morales, Sr. (6-foot, 165); OL/DL: #56-S’aire Daniels, Jr. (6-foot, 300); DB/ATH: #1-Zyon Crawford, Sr. (5-9, 165)

RAMONA (5-5 overall, 2-3 River Valley League) backslid into the playoffs after a 31-10 loss to Norte Vista in Week 10. Senior QB Jeremiah Acosta was just 4 of 16 passing with two interceptions and will have to play better if Ramona has a chance tonight. Not having senior WR Jake Valenzuela available is certainly an issue. Junior RB Sincere Tolbert surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark in the loss.
HEAD COACH: Ken Mushinskie
ROSTER – QB: #9-Jeremiah Acosta, Sr. (na); RB: #30-Sincere Tolbert, Jr. (na); RB/LB: #21-Peter Mesa, Sr. (na); WR: #1-Jake Valenzuela, Sr. (na); ATH: #22-Royce Mendoza, Sr. (na); DE: #88-Gavin McGowan, Jr. (6-1, 180); MLB: #11-Troy Long, Soph. (5-10, 150); CB/FS: #8-Michael Perez, Sr. (5-11, 170); #3-Kellan McAllister, Jr. (na)

THE DIFFERENCE:
The presence of Valenzuela in Ramona’s lineup is paramount. He’d be a star in a game like this.

THE FINAL SCORE (PROJECTED):
Ramona 28, San Gorgonio 27
