PRESEASON 2012

1. Vista Murrieta — Su’a Cravens, All-American and USC commit, returns along with QB Nick Stevens (6-4, 185), RB Kei-Ron Long (5-8, 170) and LB Bryce Smith (5-10, 205) for Coach Coley Candaele. What’s not to like?

LAST RANKED: No. 1.

WEEK ONE: vs. Highlands Ranch (Colo.) ThunderRanch on FRIDAY, Aug. 31.

2. Corona Centennial — Don’t think for one moment that Coach Matt Logan won’t put together a team ready to win the revamped Big Eight, err Six. No matter whom he plays, Cal-bound OL Cameron Hunt (6-foot-4, 263 pounds) will move defenders.
LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 7-0 Big VIII League.
LAST RANKED: No. 3.
LAST GAME: lost 31-28 to No. 1 Vista Murrieta in the CIF-SS Inland Division championship game on Friday, Dec. 9.
WEEK ONE: vs. Ventura St. Bonaventure at Moorpark College on FRIDAY, Aug. 31.

3. Moreno Valley Rancho Verde — A CIF title under their belts, Univ. of Washington commits Demorea Stringfellow (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) and Paola Maosi (6-5, 285) are back to lead by example for Coach Pete Duffy.
LAST SEASON: 14-0 overall, 7-0 Inland Valley League.
LAST RANKED: No. 2.
LAST GAME: d. Palm Springs 35-16 in the CIF-Southern Section Central Division championship game on Friday, Dec. 9.
WEEK ZERO: vs. Elsinore on FRIDAY, Aug. 24.

4. Upland — Program only got better in its first year moving up from the Central to the Inland Division. Senior DE Joe Mathis (6-foot-5, 240 pounds) is a sought-after talent.
LAST SEASON: 12-1 overall, 5-0 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 5.
LAST GAME: lost 39-18 to No. 1 Vista Murrieta in a CIF-SS Inland Division semifinal game on Friday, Dec. 2.
WEEK ZERO: vs. Pasadena Muir on Friday, Aug. 24.

5. Menifee Heritage — Senior TB Jamal Morrow (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) ran for 1,777 yards and 21 TDs in ’11, and WR/CB Darius Allensworth (6-foot, 180)  has committed to Univ. of Arizona.
LAST SEASON: 12-2 overall, 5-0 Sunbelt League.
LAST RANKED: No. 7.
LAST GAME: lost 24-17 to No. 8 Fontana Summit in the CIF-SS Eastern Division championship game on Saturday, Dec. 10.
WEEK ZERO: at San Jacinto on FRIDAY, Aug. 24.

6. Riverside North — Huskies take talents to Inland Valley League, could dominate with Ohio State-commit Marcus Baugh (6-foot-4, 225 pounds) and 1,400-yard RB Denzel Foster (5-9, 185) featured in Coach Mark Parades’ gameplan.
LAST SEASON: 10-2 overall, 6-1 Big VIII League.
LAST RANKED: No. 9.
LAST GAME: lost 58-14 to No. 1 Vista Murrieta in a CIF-SS Inland Division quarterfinal game on Friday, Nov. 25.
WEEK ONE: at Colton on FRIDAY, Aug. 31.

7. Redlands East Valley — USC-bound DE Kylie Fitts (6-foot-4, 241 pounds) may be the Inland Area’s second-most prolific player in 2012.
LAST SEASON: 11-1 overall, 5-0 Citrus Belt League.
LAST RANKED: No. 8.
LAST GAME: lost 9-6 to No. 9 Rancho Cucamonga in a CIF-SS Inland Division quarterfinal game on Friday, Nov. 25.

8. Fontana Summit — Champs left in the lurch by the deflection of Coach Tony Barile to Eastvale Roosevelt as they make the jump to the Central Division.
LAST SEASON: 13-1 overall, 5-0 Sunkist League.
LAST RANKED: No. 4.
LAST GAME: d. No. 5 Menifee Heritage 24-17 in the CIF-Southern Section Eastern Division championship game on Saturday, Dec. 10.
WEEK ZERO: vs. Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda at Fontana Miller HS on FRIDAY, Aug. 24.

9. Rancho Cucamonga — The best defensive backfield in the Inland Area belongs to Coach Nick Baiz. Senior CB Chris Hawkins (6-foot, 175 pounds) has already committed to USC, and S Tahaan Goodman (6-1, 185) is on the rise.
LAST SEASON: 11-2 overall, 4-1 Baseline League.
LAST RANKED: No. 6.
LAST GAME: lost 41-21 to No. 2 Corona Centennial in a CIF-SS Inland Division semifinal game on Friday, Dec. 2.
WEEK ZERO: vs. Redlands on FRIDAY, Aug. 24.

10. Redlands — Senior RB Craig Lee (6-foot, 190 pounds) is drawing all kinds of NCAA Division I attention, and has reported offers from UCLA and Nebraska, among others. Senior QB Jimmy Walker (6-3, 200), Coach Jim Walker’s son, can complete clutch passes but must command huddle.
LAST SEASON: 4-7 overall, 3-2 Citrus Belt League.
LAST RANKED: Not Ranked.
LAST GAME: lost to No. 2 Corona Centennial in a CIF-SS Central Division 1st Round playoff game on Friday, Nov. 18.

JUST MISSED: Palm Springs (13-1), Norco (6-5), Murrieta Mesa (4-6).
