FOUR & MORE: Best Inland Area Ks/Ps


1. Manny Berz, Jr. Perris Citrus Hill — Was nearly perfect, making 10 of 11 field-goal attempts as a sophomore. He didn’t have the longest FG (41) but he was automatic at distances up to 40 yards. Also average 38.5 yards per punt.

2. Mateo Thompson, Sr., Murrieta Mesa — Made the longest FG (53) of any CIF-Southern Section player last season. Cleared 11 of 14 FG attempts overall in ’14, but made just 1 of 3 in Rams’ ’15 opener.

3. Kyle Avery, Sr., Riverside Poly — Had a lot of placekicking opportunities with the Bears around the end zone so much last season. Was 71 for 74 on PATs and 8 for 10 on FGs.

4. Jake Perez, Sr., Corona Centennial — ‘Mr. Touchback’ was 7 for 7 on PATs in Huskies’ Week 0 win.

Garrett Deane, La Verne Bonita — Made 10 of 11 FGs last season.
Edgar Magdaleno, Sr., Riverside Norte Vista — Was 52 for 54 on PATs in ’14.
Fidel Romo, Sr., Banning — Tops all CIF-SS returners with 45.6 yards per punt average.
Jaren Surdo, Covina Charter Oak — Was 50 for 51 on PATs, 9 for 10 on FGs in ’14.
