I worked the Mission Viejo-Vista Murrieta CIF-Southern Section West Valley Division Championship Game on Friday night, Dec. 4, 2015, and came away thinking the Diablos have the worst behaved coaches, players and spectators of any team this season.

I’m talking awful. And for what? Because you’re winners on a football field? So disappointing you are in victory.

Three examples on the milieu of expletives, pejoratives and outright deplorable things said and done by Mission Viejo’s representatives.

1. Men on the sideline, not coaches or players, but alums/dads yelling “F— you!” at the sideline judge every time he threw his flag. The level of salty language from the crowd also was alarming.

2. Diablos star left tackle shoving some poor sophomore teammate and saying ‘Get the f— out of my way!’ after coming off the field following an unsuccessful drive in the third quarter. Same dude also kicked over a full trashcan during a fourth quarter tantrum.

3. Having to endure Bob Johnson’s verbal abuse in the first quarter. Needless to say I was well within my rights as a CIF-Southern Section Media Pass holder when Johnson asked “Who the f— is this?” and pointed at me. I was quickly informed to “Get the f— out of here!” and that “Somebody needs to kick him out!”

So I smiled and laughed because Johnson’s abrasive and people know it. They say he’s mean, grumpy and something of a curmudgeon, and he’s not afraid to show it.

I’ll assume I got the same as anyone else because I was that guy at the moment. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with that bullshit for another minute.
