Prep Preview: Redlands @ REV
I’m covering and will be live-tweeting (@fldhzofmybrain) the Redlands High-Redlands East Valley girls varsity soccer match today, Friday, Dec. 18, 2015. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m. at Redlands Sports Park.
The best part of this assignment is it’s a rivalry game; meaning an old-school Redlands throw down that could have playoff implications.
THE LOW DOWN:
Redlands (1-4-0 overall, 0-1-0 Citrus Belt) has had a rough start against a tough early-season schedule, losing at Yucaipa earlier in this week to start league play. Senior Maddie Jordan is a known quantity so the Bulldogs’ success this season will be tied to the success of those around the talented attacking midfielder. It may prove too tough, Jordan is one of only three seniors on coach Amber Jacobsen’s roster this season.
REV (1-2-2 overall, 0-0-1 Citrus Belt) has gotten back to equilibrium following a 6-0 smashing from Norco earlier in this month but has to win a game since. The Wildcats tied Rialto Carter, 1-1, on Wednesday, but have not won a game since their season opener Dec. 1 at MoVal Valley View. Senior Danika Bowman and Arianna Lopez, and junior Brenna Dolen are captains.
THE DIFFERENCE:
The obvious answer would be Maddie Jordan. Maybe she’ll do something that will change the game.
THE FINAL SCORE:
Redlands 1, REV 0
