Eric Melesio, Riverside Norte Vista…
Melesio set new school records with 487 rushing yards and six touchdowns as Norte Vista (5-2 overall, 2-0 River Valley) got a little bit closer to its classic and widely-respected smash-mouth style with a pounding result that puts the rest of its league and future playoff opponents on notice.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior recorded his longest touchdown run of the season (80 yards), and has run for touchdowns of longer than 60 yards in each of his last four games.
With his most recent performance, the transfer from Perris Citrus Hill is the first Inland area running back to surpass the 2,000-yard mark this season.
He has rushed for 100-or-more yards in each of his seven games, and currently stands with an area-leading 2,035 yards and 26 rushing touchdowns.
