GAME OF THE WEEK: Orange Lutheran vs. Centennial

THE DETAILS:
Orange Lutheran vs. Centennial
CIF-Southern Section – Week 11
First Round Playoffs
At Corona (Calif.) Centennial HS
Kickoff: 7 p.m. PT on Friday, Nov. 2

ORANGE LUTHERAN (5-5 overall, 2-3 Trinity League) comes in battle tested and with an elite QB at the helm so you’d think the Lancers would stand a chance in this game, but they already lost to Centennial once this season, 45-28, back in Week 4 so there aren’t many people giving this team a chance. Senior QB Ryan Hilinski has passed for 28 TDs and more than 2,600 yards, turning a couple of receivers – Josiah Hawkins and Logan Loya – into two- and three-star receivers with futures in football. Hilinski has more than 10 Division 1 offers and will look to finish his prep career on a high note, lack of a running game be damned.
HEAD COACH: J.P. Presley
ROSTER – QB: Ryan Hilinski, Sr. (6-3, 215); RB: Cooper Vander Hill, Jr. (5-9, 170); WR: Josiah Hawkins, Sr. (5-10, 165); Logan Loya, Jr. (6-foot, 180); Kyle Ford, Sr. (6-2, 200); OL: Jake Casavella, Sr. (6-4, 260); DL: Josh Rodriguez, Sr. (5-11, 250); Joseph Wiersman, Jr. (6-4, 210); LB: Jackson Cloyd, Sr. (6-2, 222); Jonah Laban, Jr. (5-10, 243); DB: K.J. Trujillo, Sr. (6-foot, 168); DeShawn Craig, Sr. (5-10, 160); K: Ashton Logan, Soph. (5-11, 175)

CENTENNIAL (10-0 overall, 5-0 Big VIII League) is peaking at the right time, scoring 80 or more points in each of its last two games and generally steamrolling its way through another high school football season. Junior QB Carter Freedland sat out Week 10 vs. Roosevelt but it didn’t matter as senior QB ALa Mikaele led the Huskies to 77 points in the first half en route to a 84-14 victory. The QB duo has alternated snaps all season and will likely go back to that tonight should everyone be healthy and good to go. Senior WR Reggie Retzlaff has been the teams most versatile offensive player this season, with touchdowns at least three different ways this season.
HEAD COACH: Matt Logan
ROSTER – QB: Carter Freedland, Jr. (6-foot-2, 200 pounds); Ala Mikaele, Jr. (5-10, 190); RB: Thomas Kinslow, Sr. (5-10, 195); Octavio Cortes, Sr. (5-9, 200); WR: Gary Bryant, Sr. (5-11, 155); Reggie Retzlaff, Sr. (6-3, 195); OL: Malik Scurlock, Sr. (6-3, 280); DL: Drake Jackson, Sr. (6-4, 275); MLB: Tuasivi Nomura, Sr. (6-1, 200); DB: Isaiah Young, Jr. (5-9, 150); K: Michael Velasco, Sr. (5-8, 150)

THE DIFFERENCE:
These teams have already played this season so we know (basically) how this is supposed to go.

THE FINAL SCORE (PROJECTED):
Centennial 49, Orange Lutheran 35
