GAME OF THE WEEK: MoVal at Vista del Lago

THE DETAILS:
Moreno Valley vs. Vista del Lago
CIF-Southern Section – Week 10
Mountain Valley League
At Moreno Valley (Calif.) Vista del Lago High School
Kickoff: 7 p.m. PT on Friday, Nov. 1

MORENO VALLEY (8-1 overall, 5-0 Mountain Valley League) is playing some serious defense this season. The Vikings have allowed only 21 points over the last six weeks, and just 73 points all season. To wit: the Vikings allowed a season-high 21 points in a 22-21 victory over Eisenhower in Week 3, and haven’t lost a game since Week 2 vs. Norte Vista. Senior DE/OLB Henry Seiuli has wreaked havoc on opposing offenses with 10 sacks and three forced fumbles, and sophomore RB Elijah Kelsey continues to emerge as one of the area’s top backs with 18 TDs and more than 1,100 rushing yards so far.
HEAD COACH: Ted Wadkins
ROSTER – QB: Dyvon Brown, Sr. (6-foot, 185 pounds); RB: Jaylin Henderson, Sr. (5-7, 154); RB: Elijah Kelsey, Soph. (6-foot, 180); WR: Leroy Louis, Sr. (6-2, 175); OL: Ernesto Jaramillo, Sr. (6-1, 230); DT: Javion Jackson, Sr. (6-5, 335); DE: Henry Seiuli, Sr. (6-2, 185); LB: Chris Reyes, Sr. (6-foot, 215); DB: Robert Finley, Sr. (5-9, 173); K: Luis Valles, Sr., (6-foot, 175)

VISTA DEL LAGO (8-1 overall, 5-0 Sunkist League) has had one of its best seasons in school history, and would love nothing more than to continue to ride its current seven-game winning streak by capping the regular season with its first league title. Senior RB Stephon Goss-Jenkins (719 rushing yards, 11 TDs) has had more help carrying the load as seniors Daisean Smith and Jordan Osby have stepped up to combine for nearly 900 yards and 11 TDs.
HEAD COACH: Michael Touhy
ROSTER – QB: Julian Medina, Jr. (5-foot-11, 180 pounds); RB: Stephon Goss-Jenkins, Sr. (5-9, 165); RB: Daisean Smith, Sr. (5-9, 170); RB: Jordan Osby, Sr. (5-7, 200); WR: Micah Hayes, So. (5-10, 160); TE: Jesus Lopez-Rivera, Jr. (6-2, 220); OL/DL: Kaleb Seabrooks, Sr. (6-4, 225); LB: Dakota Daughtery-Chatterfield, Sr. (6-foot, 200); LB: Saul Torres, Jr. (6-foot, 185); K: Raul Salazar, Jr. (5-10, 190)

THE DIFFERENCE:
Moreno Valley’s physicality in the trenches. The Vikings have dominated the line of scrimmage more often than not.

THE FINAL SCORE (PROJECTED):
Moreno Valley 24, Vista del Lago 18
