ROOSEVELT (0-0 overall, 0-0 Big West-Lower League) lost all five league games – badly – last season and still managed to get into the playoffs, even banking a couple of wins before bowing out in the CIFSS D6 semifinals. Head coach Aaron Crone returns for his third season at the helm. Crone, a QB guru and the first Mustangs alum to become their head coach, is looking at Linfield Christian transfer Charlie Bohmer to lead the offense.

NORCO (0-0 overall, 0-0 Big West-Upper League) has been boosted by the return of senior RB Trevor Schneider but he remains injured and isn’t likely to play. Instead, sophomore Lee White will likely get the bulk of the carries in what looks to be a run-first offense again. White will need to keep the chains moving to provide balance on offense and allow the Julian Medina-to-Blake Wong connection time to warm up.
