1. Riverside North (11-0) — The scorelines are getting tighter but the Huskies remain unbeaten. They withstood a three-hit barrage from Riverside Poly’s R.J. Ybarra to beat the Bears, 8-6 on 3/21, and got out of a seventh-inning jam to win at Roosevelt on 3/23.

2. Redlands (12-1) — The Terriers began league play by defeating long-time CBL rival Fontana on 3/23. Senior C Jacob Nottingham (6-foot-3, 200), committed to University of Oklahoma, hit a game-clinching two-run single in the fifth inning for Coach Estevan Valencia’s team, which faces No. 3 REV later this week.

3. Redlands East Valley (8-4) — The Wildcats seemed ready for their first league opponent, Fontana Miller, defeating the Rebels on 3/23. Senior SS Frank Alvarez (6-foot, 175 pounds) had two hits, a double and an RBI in the win. And it is a big win, considering their next opponent.

Yucaipa (7-4) — The Thunderbirds took out some frustrations upon Rialto Eisenhower, scoring eight runs in the seventh inning against the Eagles; the exact number of runs they needed in a 10-2 loss to No. 2 Redlands in Arizona a week previous. Senior INF Tyler Sapp (6-foot, 185 pounds) homered, double and had three RBI in the win.

5. Woodcrest Christian (9-1) — The Royals showed their best on Monday afternoon. That is, senior P John Davis (5-foot-9, 175 pounds) had a huge game, earning his third win of the season (he’s 3-0) while going 2 for 4 with his third triple in his last two games. He had two vs. Upland Western Christian on 3/20.

6. Riverside Arlington (7-2) — The Lions have won three consecutive games since getting steamrolled in Palm Springs a week earlier. Senior SS Paul Martinez (6-foot, 160 pounds) had three hits — including a double and a triple — in an 18-6 win over Moreno Valley on 3/22.
